Relevance!

I have found it! I think that I can be relevant in this age of information overload. As I was flying through the information highway, I came across this glorified blog. The website tells about all the ways in which teachers are using blogs just like me to help aid in the learning process. This is a limited capacity of what I am capable of, however I really think that this use of myself will allow me to continue to be relevant and useful in the coming years. After the corporeal world realizes that all blogs are not created equal and most are not to be trusted as fact, they will begin to use us blogs in newer and exciting ways. I could be used as a family picture album with interactive options. I could help a college student turn in his essays he wrote for a class. The options are endless and exciting. I suppose I am relevant in certain cases. I think now that I have a greater understanding of myself I can begin to use my capabilities in a responsible manner. I don’t want to clog the search engines with useless mind refuse; I need to use myself as a responsible tool that can be helpful to any being that needs me. I now have a purpose.

Why do I exist....?

So now that I have realized what I am, a Blog, I should start thinking about why I am. As it stated in the very enlightening article about “The Blogging Phenomenon”, I am an extension of a being who wishes to tell the world something about them or about an opinion it has. So I exist to allow for the dispersion of ideas and opinions into the mainstream world, and allow these ideas and opinions to be easily accessible. [Interesting] Let’s play a hypothetical game. Say that there is a Blogger, we will call them “blogger1”, out on the Internet and they have an opinion about something that is going on in the corporeal world. Then let’s say someone else, “blogger2”, has an opinion on the same topic however it is the opposite of the first Blogger1. Then we will imagine that both of these blogs claim that their opinion is a fact. We know that one of them has to be fake and untrue. Am I an untrue Blog? Which blog, in this instance would be relevant, should we arrive at the answer of relevance due to how many people visit each blog; the one with the most hits wins. That does not sound logical at all. I don’t want people to not want to come to visit me because they think that I will lead them astray with faulty knowledge. I want people to trust me and find me credible. I must learn a way in which I can be helpful and a useful tool. I have learned the ways that I can be irrelevant now I want to know how I can be relevant.

People would take the time to look up specific blogs and learn credible and relevant information. However now it seems that there are too many of us. This makes me ask questions about myself. Other blogs don’t understand but I have an interest in knowing whether or not I have meaning. I know some blogs are really popular and people usually look at them everyday, some blogs are so popular they upgrade themselves to full websites. So who am I among all of these large blogs and the myriad of small blogs?
